Hot tubs can provide a relaxing and therapeutic atmosphere however; certain measures should be taken to provide the safest, most enjoyable, atmosphere possible. Hot tub water should always be properly sanitized and balanced so that the water is healthy, clean, clear, and free of bacteria. Water that is not balanced can cause skin and eye irritation, cloudy water, and may damage the hot tub's shell and inner workings. Water balance is comprised of three factors that work hand in hand, sanitizer, alkalinity and pH. It is always a good safeguard to test your hot tub water's sanitizer levels (using a strip or drop method) before using the tub to make sure there is enough.
