Standard Pool Opening & Startup

Your pool opening will be done over a two-day period and in most cases will be complete in this time frame. However, due to circumstances beyond our control it sometimes takes a little longer (i.e. poor weather, equipment repairs, dirty/green pools, etc.). The following tasks are completed for a pool opening & startup.

Day 1 (pool opening):

  • Pump off cover, empty waterbags, remove leaves
  • Remove and clean cover, waterbags
  • Fold cover & waterbags, put away
  • Clean waterline & in-wall stairs, inside skimmer
  • Clean ladder, diving board, slide
  • Clean deck area where cover sat
  • Remove plugs from returns, skimmer
  • Install eyeballs, backwash hose
  • Install ladder(s), handrail(s), diving board, slide and pool light(s)
  • Install plugs, lids, gaskets on filtration system
  • Attach solar blanket to roller, bubbles down (check condition)
  • Skim pool surface
  • Clean up leaves and garbage from pool opening and leave for customer for disposal
  • Take water sample

Day 2 (startup)

  • Check all plugs, gauges, clamps on filter system
  • Assemble automatic pool cleaner, if available
  • Prime pump & start up pool
  • Clean water line & in-wall stairs, inside skimmer
  • Skim pool surface
  • Brush down pool floor, pool walls and provide a light vacuuming (if required)
  • Fill chlorinator/brominator or put pucks in skimmer (if available)
  • Add chemicals as per water analysis printout (if requested)

Excessive amounts of leaves and debris will result in additional clean up charges.

This is the maximum amount of work included in your pool opening fee.  Any steps not required or inapplicable will not constitute a reduction in the pool opening fee.
